ALL ABOUT BTSS
The NCJW Columbus Back-To-School Store is a one-day event set up like a department store. Each child is assigned an adult volunteer (their own “personal shopper”) to help them shop for clothing and supplies in their favorite colors and styles. While the children are shopping, their parents and guardians will be able to spend time in the Family Resource Room. The Family Resource Room is a collaboration with other community businesses and organizations to provide resources to families ranging from vision screenings to financial advice assistance to information on childhood safety. Each child will be given a set time to come shopping and is guaranteed to walk away with all of the items they would like. If we do not have the correct size at the event, we will make sure to follow-up with the child after they leave with the correct item.
We need you - all of our committees are signing up volunteers to help with the launch and ongoing efforts of our BTSS. Give us your name below to be added to our list for the next BTSS!
The 2nd Annual NCJW Columbus Back-to-School Store will be held on Sunday, July 26th, 2020 at Temple Beth Shalom in New Albany.
This year's store will assist 100 children ages 6-11 or grades 1st through 5th with their clothing and school supplies for the school year. Each child will go home with a new outfit of clothing, underwear, socks, winter coat, hat, gloves, backpack, personal care items, school supplies and a new or gently used book.
Our first ever Back-to-School Store was a HUGE success! We surpassed all of our goals thanks to the support of our incredible community. We were pleased to have fundraised over $16,000 with YOUR help and successfully outfitted 86 children in the greater Columbus area! We were so thankful for the sponsorships as well as the volunteer efforts of our community- over 100 volunteers were involved in this event throughout the year.
